In like Flynn

It's official! I am now an employee of Verizon Wireless...pending my drug test results. I'm in. (No pun intended!) I have a start date of July 20th. After all this time searching, I don't know how easily I can give up looking for a job! I think I need counseling. The extra exciting thing about the job is that I'll be working about three blocks from where Lisa works. I don't think our hours will allow us to have lunch together, but at least we'll be close. I'll keep ya'll updated on how things progress with everything.

This afternoon we're going to the Bellevue annual Strawberry Festival. I'm trying to contain my excitement. It'll be fine...I guess. I'll post some pics later. Anyhoo, peace!

Interviews

I'm sooo tired! I had an "are you good enough" test at the Verizon Wireless shop this morning at 9:30am. After I thought I had totally bombed it, they told me I passed and wanted to interview me later. I secured an afternoon time, so as not to conflict with my 11:45 interview with Emerson Hardwood. I was fashonably late and lost for that. I had to call them twice to get directions. What a great first impression! I think that went well...maybe. My 3:00 interview with Verizon went well too. They invited me back for a "less formal" interview with the HR folks. I had the funny notion that Catbert would be there. We'll see... I'll let you know the final results when I'm back up here this weekend. Keep prayin'.

Mo' Job Shtuff

In the exciting news of my job hunt, I was able to land two interviews for tomorrow. One with Verizon Wireless at their call center in Bellevue and the other (pending a phone call) with a lumber company in Woodinville. They both sound like great opportunities and I hope to wow them with my mad interviewing skills!
I changed my address from Oregon to Washington on Saturday and have received four calls about jobs since then! I sent off quite a few letters to some surrounding Post Offices yesterday. I'm hoping to hear back from them within the next week or so. I've gotta' say, this whole job search has opened my eyes to the vastness of the recruiting process. It's an absolute monster!
Well, the weather has been stellar the past few days and I'm starting to miss my motorcycle. Maybe I can call the kid who bought it and try and live the funness through him...or not.
I'll make sure and keep ya'll updated on the job search. Have fun...whatever you're doing!

Random Pic

Here's a picture of Lisa and me at Shawn and Celeste's place for the Super Bowl. It was a while ago, but I just wanted to show off how beautiful Lisa is! Yeah, she's mine. Peace out.

Job Search

Well, I'm back after a bit of a sabbatical. I wasn't able to post anything last week due to driving massive amounts. After work on Friday I drove up to Bellevue and picked up Lisa for a Saturday afternoon trip back to Portland for Matt Wolf's bachelor party. Sunday night after the wedding we drove back up to Bellevue. Then on Monday evening I drove back to Salem. Good times. (I only tell you this to justify not posting anything!)

Yesterday I met with someone at Business Careers in Lynnwood. They're a job placement agency that helps with the old search-a-roo. They basically grilled me about my past job experiences, schooling and my future expectations. I'm not sure if she took me seriously when I told her I expected my yearly compensation to be at least 500K. I just thought she was laughing with me...oh...I wasn't laughing. Anyhoo...Lisa, the lady I met with, said she had three different ideas for me and would let me know on Monday if she can schedule an interview(s). I'd really apprecitate your prayers as this next week or so come around. Thanks for all your support!
